Epitact Left Hand Flexible Proprioceptive Orthosis (S)

Information:

Rhizarthrosis mainly affects women over 50 years of age and, in most cases, starts in the dominant hand, but can reach both. Genetic factors, menopause or the repetition of certain gestures seem to be favorable to their appearance. Its evolution through crises causes painful inflammatory attacks and gradually leads to blockage and deformation of the thumb. Over time it becomes impossible to grab an object using your thumb.

The use, during the day, of the EPITACT proprioceptive orthosis®, helps to relieve joint pain linked to arthrosis at the base of the thumb (rhizarthrosis). Limits traumatic micro movements (dislocation of hands in space when walking, speaking, etc.), keeps the thumb in the resting position and conserves the local heat at the joint level. Malleable, thin and discreet, this orthosis allows you to maintain the full functionality of your hand: you can drive, write, use the phone ... and wear your watch or jewelry!

It acts on 3 complementary factors:

• Keeps the thumb in a resting position: the alignment of the thumb bones limits the forces exerted on the trapezius-metacarpal joint and relieves pain;
• Absorbs traumatic micro-mobilizations: during the day, the thumb appears to be at rest, however it moves constantly with the movement of the hands in space. Without immobilizing, the flexible orthosis will support the thumb and the 1st matacarpal. This proprioceptive support will help to absorb traumatic micromobilizations and limit painful inflammatory episodes;
• Maintains local heat: the Epitact Orthosis has an analgesic effect (pain relief), due to the properties of its tissue and the Epithelium®Flex silicone tendon, which maintain local heat.

ADVICE ON USE

This product is an orthosis for daytime use.

There are two versions: right hand and left hand (the seam must be on the inside of the hand).

PLACING

Line up the orthosis in your hand by sliding your thumb into position. The cosutra should be positioned on the inside of the hand. For greater comfort, adjust the position of the orthosis, slightly moving the seam more or less towards the center of the inside of the hand.

COMPOSITION

14% silicone, 86 % polyamide / elastane fabric.

CONSERVATION

• Machine wash at 40 ° C, inside the washing bag provided for this purpose, or wash by hand (without rubbing).

• Allow to dry naturally. Do not iron.

• Do not use stain remover (acetone, solvent, etc.).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• The product was subjected to all tests imposed by European legislation, with the objective of obtaining the CE mark (ISO 10993-1 standard). If an incident occurs, you should immediately stop using the product and inform Millet Innovation.

• Do not apply to an unprotected wound.

• In case of severe edema: watch the hand during use. Remove the device in case of strong pressure that prevents circulation. If in doubt, consult your doctor or
