Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations of adult fleas persists for 4 weeks. Elimination of ticks (Ixodes ricinus). The veterinary medicinal product has persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 4 weeks against ticks.
Active substances: Fipronil 50 mg and S-Methoprene 60 mg.
Fipronil is an insecticide and acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole family. Fipronil kills fleas within 24 hours, and ticks (Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis campanulata) as well as lice, within 48 hours of exposure.
(S)-Methoprene is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) of the juvenile hormone class that inhibits the development of immature stages of insects. The ovicidal activity of (S)-methoprene results from penetration of the egg shell of recently laid eggs or absorption through the cuticle of adult fleas. (S)-methoprene is also effective in preventing the development of flea larvae and pupae, which prevents contamination of the animal environment by immature stages of fleas.
Dosage and route of administration:
For external use, spot-on solution. One 0.5 ml pipette per cat, corresponding to a minimum recommended dose of 5 mg/kg of fipronil and 6 mg/kg of (S)-methoprene, applied topically to the skin. In the absence of safety studies, the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. One 0.5 ml pipette per ferret, corresponding to a dose of 50 mg of fipronil and 60 mg of (S)-methoprene per ferret, applied topically to the skin. The minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. Remove the pipette from the packaging. Hold the pipette vertically, twist and remove the cap. Turn the cap upside down and place the other end of the cap back on the pipette. Twist the cap to break the seal and then remove the cap from the pipette. Part the animal's fur in the area between the shoulder blades to make the skin visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly on the skin and squeeze several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin at one or two different points.
