Laevolac Syrup 200ml

Laevolac is indicated in chronic constipation (in all cases).

Active substance: Lactulose 10 g. Lactose ±120 mg/ml and Galactose ±133.5 mg/ml.

Dosage and method of administration:

The recommended dose is 30 ml of syrup (one tablespoon corresponds to 15 ml) in two doses, one before breakfast and one before lunch, diluted in a glass of water. Adults: starting dose: 10-20 g of lactulose, which corresponds to 15-30 ml of syrup per day (2 tablespoons) in a single dose or divided into two doses. In maintenance, doses should be reduced by half, ie 5-10 g of lactulose corresponding to 7.5-15 ml of syrup per day.

Children: under 1 year of age: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) in two doses per day. 1-5 years: 5 ml per day (1 tsp). 5-10 years: 10 ml in two daily doses (1 teaspoon corresponds to 5 ml). To obtain a quick laxative effect, 1-3 tablespoons of Laevolac should be diluted in 1/8 to 1/4 of water, coffee, tea, fruit juices or milk, taken in the morning and on an empty stomach. Bowel movements usually occur about 2 hours later, resulting in soft or watery stools. The intestinal transit regulating effect of Laevolac may persist for several days in some patients, in which case it is sufficient to take Laevolac every other day or every three days.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Galactosemia, lactose intolerance, galactose-free diet, intestinal obstruction or suspected ileus.
