Viabom 50mg is mainly used to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting and/or vertigo associated with motion sickness (car, train, boat, plane, etc.). Dimenhydrinate is most effective in motion sickness when it is given prophylactically; however, susceptibility to motion sickness may vary with patient age, previous exposure, type, severity, and duration of motion. It can be used in the symptomatic treatment of nausea and vomiting related to vertigo.

Active substance: Dimenhydrinate 50mg.

Dosage and method of administration:

Tablets for oral administration. For the prevention of motion sickness, dimenhydrinate should be administered orally 30 minutes prior to travel. For the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting and/or dizziness associated with motion sickness, the usual dosage administered orally is: Adults and children 12 years of age and older - 1 to 2 tablets (50 to 100 mg) every 4 -6 hours not exceeding 400 mg in 24 hours. Children aged between 6 and 12 years: 1/2 to 1 tablet (25 to 50 mg) every 6-8 hours not exceeding 150 mg in 24 hours; (1.25 mg/kg of body weight, 4 times a day). Children aged 2 to 6 years - 1/4 to 1/2 tablet (12.5 to 25 mg) every 6-8 hours not exceeding 75 mg in 24 hours. Children under 2 years of age - Can only be administered under strict medical supervision.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

In accordance with current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
