steroid use, reduces inflammation and itching and improves the barrier effect
skin by strengthening the layers of intercellular epidermal ceramides.
Contains: Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), Linoleic acid (LA), Ecosapentanoic acid (EPA), Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), Zinc, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, B2, B5, B6, Vitamin D3 and Biotin .
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) - Promotes the synthesis of anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, such as prostagladin PG-1. Maintains the integrity of the skin allowing the correct maturation of keratinocytes.
Linoleic acid (LA) - Essential for the maintenance and construction of the intercellular ceramide layer of epidermal cells, producing a barrier effect and controlling transcutaneous water losses.
Ecosapentanoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) - Promote the synthesis of anti-inflammatory eicosanoids, such as prostaglandin PG-3 and Leukotriene LT-5, and reduce the synthesis of other highly inflammatory eicosanoids.
Zinc, Biotin and Other Vitamins of the B Complex - Zinc is an indispensable cofactor for maintaining the balance of the skin's collagen fibers and its deficiency is associated with dermatoses characteristic of some breeds. Together with the B vitamins they reduce the occurrence of alopecia, erythema and itching.
Vitamin E and Vitamin C - Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant and water-soluble vitamin C. Both are able to reduce the damage caused by the formation of oxygen free radicals. This protects epidermal cell membranes from oxidative damage.
Vitamin A - It is essential for cell replacement and activation of keratinization of cells in the epidermis. Its deficiency is often seen in cats and some dog breeds.
Vitamin D3 - It plays an important role in the balance of skin and hair, particularly in older animals.
