Pilucat 5mg 24 tablets

Pilucat 5mg is a contraceptive for cats.

Indications : Prevention of heat; Interruption of lactation caused by pseudo-pregnancy; Treatment of pseudo-pregnancy; Treatment of satyriasis in males; Treatment of eosinophilic granuloma and feline miliary dermatitis, accompanied or not by alopecia or pruritus.

Active substance: 5mg of Megestrol Acetate.

Contraindications: The veterinary medicinal product should not be administered in the following situations: Pre-pubertal females; Pregnant cats or cats with the possibility of pregnancy; Cats with a history of uterine ( eg cystic endometrial hyperplasia) or mammary pathology; Cats with reproductive tract or other neoplasia; Cats with diabetes mellitus and/or acromegaly (in older animals, monitoring of glycosuria associated with diabetes mellitus and/or acromegaly is advisable).

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Dosage and route of administration:

Oral administration, according to the dosage schedule described below.

Prevention of heat: Administer 1 tablet every 15 days, during anestrus and for the desired period. Alternatively, at the first signs of heat, during proestrus, administer 1 tablet for 3 days and then 1 tablet every 15 days, for the desired period. Ideally, treatment should be started during anestrus.

Treatment of lactation following pseudo-pregnancy, treatment of pseudo-pregnancy and treatment of satyriasis in males: Administer the veterinary medicinal product for 8 days at a daily dose of 2 mg/kg, i.e.:

• 2 tablets per day, for animals (cats) weighing less than 5 kg,
• 4 tablets per day, for animals (cats) weighing 5 to 10 kg.

Eosinophilic granuloma and miliary dermatitis: Administer 1 tablet every 2 days for the first 3 weeks, then 1 tablet every 3 days for the following 3 weeks and finally 1 tablet per week for the last 3 weeks. If necessary, administer 1 tablet per week for maintenance treatment.

The tablets are flavored and well accepted by cats, and can be administered directly into the cat's mouth or, if necessary, added to food.
