Piludog 10mg Dogs and Cats 16 tablets

Piludog 10mg is a contraceptive for dogs and cats.

Indications for use, specifying the target species : Prevention of heat in female dogs and cats; Interruption of lactation in female dogs and cats caused by pseudo-pregnancy; Treatment of pseudo-pregnancy; Treatment of satyriasis in male dogs and cats; Treatment of feline miliary dermatitis of endocrine origin.

Active ingredient : 10mg of Megestrol Acetate.

Contraindications: The veterinary medicinal product should not be administered in the following situations: Pre-pubertal females; Pregnant or possibly pregnant bitches and cats; Bitches and cats with a history of uterine or mammary pathology, as there may be an increased risk of endometrial hyperplasia, pyometra or mammary tumours; Bitches and cats with reproductive tract or other neoplasia; Bitches and cats with diabetes mellitus and/or acromegaly (in older animals, monitoring of glycosuria associated with diabetes mellitus and/or acromegaly is advisable).

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Special precautions for use in animals. The use of Pilusoft is contraindicated in cases of pregnancy or cystic hyperplasia of the endometrium. The most frequent and non-serious undesirable effects are: Tendency to gain weight; Glandular-cystic transformation of the endometrium; Early return to normal heat after a certain period of time, with fertility generally being preserved. No serious undesirable effects have been detected.

Dosage, method and route of administration: Oral route, according to the dosage schedule described below.

Prevention of heat:

In female dogs: One month before the expected date of onset of heat, administer for 32 days, with a daily dose of 0.5 mg/kg of body weight, that is: ¼ tablet for female dogs weighing less than 5 kg; ½ tablet for female dogs weighing between 5 and 10 kg; ¾ tablet for female dogs weighing between 10 and 15 kg; 1 tablet for female dogs weighing more than 15 kg.

In female cats: administer ½ tablet every 15 days. Heat will normally return 6 to 7 months after the end of treatment.

Treatment of lactation following pseudo-pregnancy and treatment of satyriasis in males of the canine and feline species, treatment of pseudo-pregnancy: Administer Pilusoft for 8 days at a daily dose of 2 mg/kg, that is: 1 tablet per day, for animals (dogs, bitches, cats or queens) weighing less than 5 kg; 2 tablets per day, for animals (dogs, bitches, cats or queens) weighing 5 to 10 kg; 3 tablets per day, for animals (dogs, bitches, cats or queens) weighing more than 15 kg.
