Niquitin Citrus 2mg 60 tablets

Niquitin Citrus 2mg is indicated for the treatment of tobacco dependence, in the relief of nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

Active substances: Each lozenge contains nicotine resinate equivalent to 2mg of nicotine.

Dosage and method of administration:

Patients should make every effort to completely stop smoking during treatment with Niquitin Citrus. Dosage depends on smoking habits, with Niquitin Citrus 2 mg indicated for smokers who consume up to 20 cigarettes per day. Follow-up and behavioral support increase the likelihood of success. In adolescents aged 12 to 17, treatment follows the immediate cessation scheme, but the duration of use is limited to 10 weeks and should only be done with the advice of a healthcare professional; combined therapy is not recommended. In adults, immediate cessation involves taking tablets whenever there is an urge to smoke, usually between 8 and 12 per day, up to a maximum of 15, for about six weeks, followed by a gradual reduction until cessation when the daily intake is 1 to 2 tablets. For those who cannot or do not want to stop immediately, gradual cessation allows the use of tablets to reduce cigarette consumption, without exceeding 15 per day, and should progress to complete cessation as quickly as possible. If there is no reduction after six weeks, or if complete cessation is not initiated within six months, professional advice should be sought. The duration of treatment varies according to the smoker's needs, but in general, the use of oral forms should not exceed two to three months and should be gradually reduced before stopping.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Children under 12 years of age. Non-smokers.
