Alorexyl is indicated for the treatment of male pattern hair loss, known as androgenetic alopecia, and alopecia areata, commonly known as bald patches. It is intended for use on the scalp only.
Active substance: 1 ml of solution contains 50 mg of minoxidil.
After topical application, minoxidil stimulates keratinocyte growth in vitro and in vivo, along with hair growth in certain individuals with androgenetic alopecia. This phenomenon occurs after approximately 2 months of use and varies from person to person. Growth stops when treatment is discontinued, and a return to baseline can be expected within 3 or 4 months. The precise mechanism of action is unknown.
Dosage and method of administration:
Cutaneous use. Apply 1 ml twice daily to the scalp. Application should begin in the center of the treatment area. Follow the dosage instructions, regardless of the area being treated. The total dose should not exceed 2 ml. Spread the product over the entire affected area with your fingertips. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the solution. Hair and scalp should be completely dry before applying the solution. Do not apply the product to any other part of the body. Until hair growth stimulation becomes evident, twice-daily treatment may be necessary for a period of 2 months. Alorexyl 50 mg/ml is not recommended for children under 18 years of age or adults over 65 years of age due to a lack of safety and efficacy data.
According to current legislation, non-prescription medications in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo, and Vila do Conde. This restriction does not apply to shipments to other European Union Member States.
