Trosyd 10mg/g Cream 30g

Trosyd 10mg/g Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of dermatoses caused by susceptible fungi (dermatophytes and yeasts), such as tinea pedis , tinea manum and tinea versicolor and for application on the nail bed, after keratolytic extraction, on tinea unguium .

Active substance: 10mg of tioconazole.

Tioconazole is a broad-spectrum synthetic antifungal agent that also has antibacterial activity against several Gram-positive microorganisms including Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.

Dosage and method of administration:

In most patients with tinea versicolor, 7 days is usually sufficient for healing, but in the treatment of severe cases of tinea pedis , especially the chronic hyperkeratotic type, there may be a need to prolong treatment up to 6 weeks. The duration of treatment in dermatomycoses of another location, candidiasis and erythrasma is normally between 2 to 4 weeks. In nail infections ( tinea unguium ), after keratolytic extraction, the necessary duration of treatment can reach 6 months, and can even extend to a year. The duration of treatment needed to achieve cure varies from patient to patient and depends on the infecting microorganism and the site of infection. Trosyd Cream should be gently massaged into the affected and surrounding area 1 or 2 times a day, morning and/or evening. In intertriginous areas, the cream should be applied sparingly and should be well spread to avoid tissue maceration.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients and to antifungals of the imidazole group.
