Spasmomen 40mg 30 tablets

Spasmomen 40mg is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and painful spastic manifestations of the distal intestinal tract in adults.

Active substance: 40mg of otilonium bromide.

Ambroxol is a specific fluidifier that acts on mucus viscosity and structure. It increases the production of pulmonary surfactant and stimulates ciliary activity. These actions result in improved mucus flow and transport (mucociliary clearance). Improved mucociliary clearance, demonstrated in clinical pharmacological studies, facilitates expectoration and coughing.

Dosage and method of administration:

The recommended daily dose is 80-120mg, which corresponds to taking one tablet 2 to 3 times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 120mg. Dosage should be determined based on the clinical picture and response to treatment, in accordance with current guidelines for irritable bowel syndrome. There is no defined limit to the duration of treatment, so it should be defined and reassessed periodically. However, Spasmomen is not intended for long-term treatment, and treatment should be limited to the symptomatic period.

According to current legislation, non-prescription medications in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo, and Vila do Conde. This restriction does not apply to shipments to other European Union Member States.
