Balfolic 400 Micrograms 120 tablets

Balfolic 400 Micrograms is indicated for the primary prevention of neural tube defects in newborns of women of childbearing age.

Active substances: Each milliliter of syrup contains 200 U.CEIP of alpha-amylase.

Dosage and method of administration:

Take 1 tablet daily, starting 1 month before conception and continuing for 3 months after conception. The daily dose may be doubled if folate intake is insufficient. This dose is not suitable for women who have previously given birth to babies with NTDs (Neural Tube Defects). Method of administration: The medication should be taken orally, before meals.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Patients with cancer.

According to current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
