Trocoxil 75mg 2 tablets

Trocoxil it is used to treat pain and inflammation associated with degenerative joint disease (a disease that causes joint damage, such as osteoarthritis) in dogs at least one year old. It is used when continuous treatment is needed for more than a month.

Active substances: mavacoxib (available in dosages of 20mg, 30mg and 75mg).

The active substance in Trocoxil, mavacoxib, belongs to a class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking an enzyme called cyclooxygenase 2 (COX 2). This enzyme is involved in the production of substances called prostaglandins, related to pain and inflammation. By blocking the production of prostaglandins, Trocoxil reduces pain and inflammation caused by joint damage.

Target species: Dogs.

Posology and route of administration:

The recommended dose is 2 mg of Trocoxil per kilogram of body weight and should be administered with or immediately before the animal's meal. An interval of two weeks between the first and the second dose is recommended, after which the drug should be administered once a month. The dose and duration of treatment (maximum 6.5 months) will depend on the weight and type of animal, as well as the condition to be treated.
