Cydectin is indicated for the treatment of infections in cattle caused by parasites sensitive to moxidectin:

Adult and immature gastrointestinal nematodes:

• Haemonchus placei
• Ostertagia ostertagi (including inhibited larvae)
• Trichostrongylus axei
• Nematodirus helvetianus
• Cooperia oncophora
• Cooperia punctata (adults only)
• Oesophagostomum radiatum (adults only)
• Bunostomum phlebotomum (adults only)

Adult nematodes of the respiratory tract:

• Dictyocaulus viviparus

Flies (migrating larvae):

• Hypoderma bovis
• Hypoderma lineatum

Lice:

• Linognathus vituli
• Haematopinus eurysternus
• Solenoptes capillatus
• Bovicola bovis (Damalinia bovis)

Scabies mites:

• Sarcoptes scabiei
• Psoroptes ovis
• Chorioptes bovis

Horn flies:

• Haematobia irritans

Active substances: Moxidectin 5.00 mg

Moxidectin is a parasiticide active against a wide variety of bovine internal and external parasites. It is a second generation macrocyclic lactone from the milbemycins family. Its main mechanism of action is interference with GABA receptors (gamma aminobutyric acid) involved in neuromuscular transmission.

Moxidectin stimulates the release of GABA and increases its union with post-synaptic receptors. The effect is to open the chloride ion channels in the postsynaptic connection, allowing their flow, inducing an irreversible state of rest. This results in flaccid paralysis and the eventual death of parasites exposed to the drug.

Posology and route of administration:

500 µg moxidectin / kg body weight (1 ml per 10 kg) in a single topical application.

Apply along the midline of the animal's back from the cross of the shoulder to the base of the tail.

Apply to clean and healthy areas of the skin.
