Caniquantel Plus 120 tablets

Caniquantel Plus is a medicine for the treatment of mixed parasitic infections by: Nematodes, Cestodes and Protozoa.

Nematodes: Ascarids (adult and larval forms); Toxocara canis; Leonine Toxascaris; Hookworms (adult forms); Ancylostoma caninum; Uncinaria stenocephala; Tricurids (adult and larval forms); Trichuris vulpis.

Cestodes: Echinococcus granulosus (adult and larval forms); Echinococcus multilocularis (adult and larval forms); Dipylidium caninum (adult and larval forms); Taenia spp. (adult and larval forms); Mesocestoides spp; Multiceps multiceps.

Protozoa: Giardia spp.

Active substances: Praziquantel 50 mg and Fenbendazole 500 mg

Target species: Dogs and cats.

Praziquantel is an anthelmintic substance that has a depolarizing effect on the cells of sensitive parasites, causing damage to the integument and disturbances in the membrane.

Fenbendazole is an anthelmintic substance that belongs to the group of benzimidazoles carbamates and that exerts its primary action by binding to the cytoplasmic protein tubulin, and by blocking the formation of the microtubular matrix.

Posology and route of administration:

Oral use. The tablet is administered directly into the animal's mouth, or mixed with the food. No specific fasting or diet is necessary. The recommended dose is 5 mg of praziquantel and 50 mg of fenbendazole per kg of body weight, which corresponds to 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight. The dosage for adult cats is usually 1/2 tablet per animal. Treatment with repeated administration the following day is recommended. To treat Giardia spp, administer for three consecutive days.
