Arpon 5L

Arpon is an ectoparasiticidal veterinary medicine active against:

• Cattle and horses: Flies (Haematobia irritans, Musca automnalis, Hydrotaea irritans)
• Cattle: Lice (Lignonatus spp, Haemotopinus spp)

Active substance: Cypermethrin.

Cypermethrin is a contact ectoparasiticide substance from the group of type II pyrethroids, which is characterized by having an alpha-cyan group in its molecule.

Group II pyrethroids mainly affect the Na + channels of nerve membranes, causing an increase in the duration of the transient increase in membrane permeability to Na + during the excitation phase. They keep altering the Na + channels persistently, depolarize the membrane and block the action potential, without causing presynaptic activity.

Posology and route of administration:

Applies topically after diluted with water.

-Flies control: spray at the beginning of the fly season and repeat monthly. In case of excessive horn flies and heads, spray every two weeks.

- Lice control: spray the animal's body when lice are observed. Repeat as many times as necessary, with a minimum interval of 14 days.

For the control of flies and lice, administer the solution of 0.1 g of cypermethrin / 100 ml of water (0.1 %) (equivalent to 1 ml of Arpon / 100 ml of water) applying:

• Adult cattle and horses: 500 ml,
• Young cattle: 250 ml,
• Calves and foals: 125 ml.
