Treatment of dermatomycoses in dogs and cats.

Active substance: Griseofulvin

Griseofulvin is an antifungal antibiotic, being a product from the metabolism of Penicillium spp.
Griseofulvin exerts a fungistatic action, preventing the growth of mycelial filaments by producing rupture of the mitotic spindle and by causing morphogenetic changes in the fungal cell wall. It probably interferes with cell wall synthesis and fungi nucleic acid metabolism. It is active on the fungi of the group - dermatophytes.

Posology and route of administration:

For oral administration.

The recommended dose is 10 to 20mg per kilo of live weight per day, for 4 to 6 weeks. The daily dose should be divided into 2 doses and mixed with food.
