Reduction of inflammation and pain caused by musculoskeletal disorders and degenerative joint disease. Following parenteral analgesia in the management of postoperative pain.

Active substance:

Carprofen 20 mg.

Carprofen has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities. Carprofen, like most other NSAIDs, is an inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase enzyme in the arachidonic acid cascade. It has been reported that the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by carprofen is mild in relation to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic potency.

Posology and route of administration:

For oral administration.

4 mg of carprofen per kg body weight per day.

The initial dose of 4 mg of carprofen per kg of body weight per day can be administered as a single daily dose or in two equally divided doses. The daily dose may be reduced, depending on the clinical response. The duration of treatment will depend on the verified response.

Long-term treatments should be monitored by the veterinarian. Do not exceed the established dose. To increase analgesic coverage in the postoperative period, preoperative parenteral therapy with injectable carprofen should be performed followed by “Norocarp 100 mg tablets for dogs” at a dose of 4 mg per kg of body weight per day, for up to 5 days.
