Relief of inflammation and pain in acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders in dogs.
Relief of inflammation and pain in acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders in dogs.
Active substance: Meloxicam
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxycam group, which acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-exudative and antipyretic effects. Reduces leukocyte infiltration into inflamed tissue. To a lesser extent, it also inhibits thrombocyte aggregation induced by collagen.
Posology and route of administration:
Oral use. Administer directly in the mouth or with food. Shake well before use.
Initial treatment is a single dose of 0.2 mg meloxicam / kg body weight (ie 1.33 ml / 10 kg body weight) on the first day. Treatment should be continued with oral administration once daily (at 24 hour intervals), at a maintenance dose of 0.1 mg meloxicam / kg body weight (ie 0.667 ml / 10 kg body weight).
For prolonged treatments, once the clinical response is observed (after ≥ 4 days), the dose can be adjusted to the lowest individual dose, taking into account that the degree of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal changes, may vary with time .
