Micoresp Powder 100g

Micoresp Powder is indicated for the treatment of chronic respiratory disease in songbirds, racing pigeons and hamsters.

Active substance: Each kg of powder contains Tylosin tartrate 100g (m/m), Doxycycline hyclate 100g (m/m) and Bromhexine hydrochloride 3.5 g (m/m).

Target species: Songbirds, racing pigeons and hamsters.

Therapeutic indications specifying the target species:

Treatment of chronic respiratory disease ( DRC ), especially mycoplasmosis, infectious sinusitis, colibacillosis, fowl cholera, avian spirochetosis (Borriela anserina), and infections caused by Chlamydia spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Listeria spp., Leptospira spp., Rickettsia spp., Pasteurella spp., Actinomyces spp., β-hemolytic Streptococcus, non-hemolytic Streptococcus, Clostridium spp., Brucella spp., Hemophilus spp., and Klebsiella spp.

Dosage and route(s) of administration:

Administration: Oral, in drinking water. Songbirds and homing pigeons: Curative treatment: 3 to 5 g per liter of drinking water. Prevention: 2 g per liter of drinking water. Hamsters: 0.5 to 1 g per liter of drinking water. Treatment duration: 3 to 5 days. To ensure correct dosing, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing. Medicated water intake depends on the animals' clinical condition. To obtain the correct dosage, the doxycycline concentration can be adjusted. Use appropriate and properly calibrated dosing equipment. Medicated water should be the only source of drinking. The therapeutic approach should be reconsidered if there is no clear response to treatment. After the end of the treatment period, the water supply system should be thoroughly cleaned to avoid consumption of subtherapeutic amounts of the active substance, which could lead to the development of resistance.
