Treatment and control of the most common nematodes and tapeworms of dogs and puppies, including:

Nematodes - Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma caninum Uncinaria stenocephala, Trichuris vulpis.

Cestodes - Echinococcus spp. Taenia spp. Dipylidium caninum.

Active substances: Praziquantel, Pirantel Embonate and Fenbendazole.

Praziquantel: The mode of action of praziquantel is unknown, but studies have shown that it induces vacuolization and subsequent disruption of the tegument in the Cestodes, namely Echinococcus granulosus, causing excessive loss of cellular constituents and the rapid death of the parasite.

Pirantel embonate: Pirantel derivatives act as cholinergic agonists causing paralysis and contracture of the vertebrate skeletal muscle. Contrary to acetylcholine, the contracture induced by the pyrantel is irreversible. Pyrantel embonate is known for its high efficacy on common ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala) of the dog, however, having limited activity against Trichuris (Trichuris vulpis).

Fenbendazole: Fenbendazole is active against Trichuris, and still has a synergistic effect with the pirantel embonate against nematodes. Fenbendazole interferes with the parasite's energy metabolism, inhibiting fumarate reductase, as well as glucose transfer. In addition, it also affects microtubular integrity.

Posology and route of administration:

Administer one tablet for every 10 kg of body weight, orally, in a single administration.

The tablets can be administered directly into the dog's mouth or disguised in food. Administration is recommended immediately before meals.
