Panacur 10% Oral Suspension 1L

Panacur 10% is indicated for cattle and horses.

Cattle: For the treatment of adult and larval stages of gastrointestinal, lung and tapeworm nematodes such as:

• Gastrointestinal nematodes: Haemonchus spp, Ostertagia spp, Trichostrongylus spp, Strongyloides spp, Cooperia spp, Trichuris spp, Bunostomum spp, Nematodirus spp, Oesophagostomum spp
• Lung nematodes: Dictyocaulus viviparous
• Tapeworms: Moniezia spp

Horses: For the treatment and control of larval and adult nematodes present in the gastrointestinal tract, such as:

• Large strongyloids (migratory and adult larval stages of S. vulgari ; adult and tissue larval stages of S. edenatus )
• Small strongyloids in adult and larval stages - Cyathostomas – (also effective in the treatment of small strongyloid larvae in the 3rd and 4th stages of development that are encysted in the mucosa; effective in the treatment of small inhibited strongyloid larvae in the 3rd stage of development, which are encysted in the mucosa).
• Oxyuris spp, Strongyloides spp, Parascaris equorum

Active substance: Fenbendazole 100 mg

Fenbendazole is an anthelmintic belonging to the carbamate-benzimidazole group and as such acts by interfering with the nematode's energy metabolism. The anthelmintic efficacy is due to the inhibition of the polymerization of tubulin to microtubulin. The anthelmintic drug is effective in both the larval and adult stages of gastrointestinal and respiratory nematodes.

Dosage and route of administration:

Oral administration. Cattle: Administer a single dose of 7.5 mg/kg of body weight (equivalent to 7.5 ml of the veterinary medicinal product for every 100 kg of body weight). Horses: Administer 7.5 mg/kg of body weight (equivalent to 7.5 ml of the veterinary medicinal product for every 100 kg of body weight) for 5 consecutive days in the vital stages of nematodes. Administer a single dose of 30 mg/kg of body weight (equivalent to 30 ml of the veterinary medicinal product for every 100 kg of body weight) against stages of small nematodes in the mucosa. Administer a single dose of 50 mg/kg of body weight (equivalent to 50 ml of the veterinary medicinal product for every 100 kg of body weight) against Strongyloides westeri in 2-3 week old foals.

Treatment should be repeated if reinfestations occur.
