Dosalid 1200mg 20 tablets

Dosalid is a broad spectrum anthelmintic for the treatment of infections caused by tapeworms and nematodes in dogs.

It has been shown to be effective against the following adult parasites: Cestodes (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia
hydatigena, Taenia pisiformis and Echinococcus granulosus), Ascarids (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina) and Hookworms (Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma caninum)

Active substances: Epsiprantel and Pirantel

Posology and route of administration:

Dosalid is indicated for oral administration only. Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended.

The recommended dose is 10.5 mg / kg, which corresponds to 5.5 mg / kg of epsiprantel and 5.0 mg / kg of pyrantel (in the form of pamoate).

Dogs: Puppies should be treated at 2-4 weeks of age and then at monthly intervals until 6 months of age. In the case of puppies known to be severely infected with T. canis, repeated doses may be necessary, that is, for 2 to 3 consecutive days.

Adults: Treatment should be semiannual or, if necessary and as directed by the attending veterinarian, more often to control the tapeworms (monthly). In the case of an infection by E.granulosus, a second treatment is recommended, due to its high pathogenicity for humans.

Breastfeeding bitches: Treat during the beginning of lactation.

The control of dog re-infections should be considered with caution using careful attention to hygiene and control of intermediate hosts such as fleas and access to possibly contaminated food (eg raw rabbit).
