Capstar is a veterinary medicine indicated for the treatment of flea infestations (C. felis).

Active substance: Nitenpiram 57 mg

Target species: Dogs.

The active substance, nitenpiram, belongs to the chemical class of neonicotinoids that binds and inhibits insect-specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Nitenpiram interferes with nerve transmission and causes the death of adult fleas. Nitenpiram does not inhibit acetylcholinesterase.

Posology and route of administration:

The recommended minimum effective dose is 1 mg / kg, according to the following recommendations: One Capstar 57 tablet should be administered to dogs weighing between 11 kg and 57 kg and two tablets to dogs weighing more than 57 kg when used. flea infestation detected. The frequency of treatment depends on the degree of infestation. In case of severe flea infestation, it may be necessary to treat the animals every day or every other day until the infestation is controlled. Treatment can be resumed if the fleas reappear. There should be no more than one treatment per day.
