Karsivan 50mg is a medicine indicated for improving symptoms associated with old age in dogs, such as disorders of cerebral and peripheral blood supply, which lead to: indolence, rapid fatigue, apathy; stiff gait, difficulty getting up and walking; anorexia, weight loss; hair loss, dull and hirsute hair.
Dosage and route of administration:
The tablets can be administered directly or offered for spontaneous assimilation, either hidden in a food pellet or in crushed form, mixed with food. The veterinary medicinal product should be administered daily for a prolonged period of time. It is advisable to check tolerance regularly. Its action may begin after a few days, depending on the clinical phenomena. After stopping treatment, a slow reappearance of symptoms is to be expected.
Small dogs (up to 10 kg body weight) - 2.5 mg propentofylline/kg pc (½ tablet).
Medium-sized dogs (up to 25 kg body weight) - 2 mg propentofylline/kg pc (1 tablet).
Large dogs (over 25 kg body weight) - 3 mg propentofylline/kg pc (1 ½ tablet).
These doses may be changed depending on the evolution of the animal's condition and at the clinician's discretion.
