Medication indicated for the improvement of symptoms associated with the old age of dogs such as disorders of cerebral and peripheral blood supply, which lead to:
- Indolence, rapid fatigue, apathy;
- Walking hard, difficulties to get up and walk;
- Anorexia, weight loss;
- Shedding of hair, spleen and hirsute.
Posology and route of administration:
The tablets can be administered directly, or offered for spontaneous assimilation, either camouflaged in a food cake or in a crushed form, mixed with the food.
The veterinary medicinal product should be administered daily for an extended period of time. It is advisable to check the tolerance regularly. Its action can start after a few days, depending on the clinical phenomena. After suppression of treatment, a slow reappearance of symptoms is to be expected.
Small dogs (up to 10 kg body weight) - 2.5 mg propentophylline / kg bw (½ tablet).
Medium-sized dogs (up to 25 kg body weight) - 2 mg propentophylline / kg bw (1 tablet).
Large dogs (over 25 kg body weight) - 3 mg propentophylline / kg bw (1 ½ tablets).
These doses can be changed, according to the evolution of the animal's condition and according to the clinician's criteria.
