Synulox 500mg 10 tablets

Synulox 500mg is a veterinary medicine indicated for the treatment of skin infections (including deep and superficial pyoderma), soft tissue infections (including anal sacculitis and abscesses), urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, intestinal infections and periodontal infections, as a complement to mechanical or surgical periodontal therapy.

Active substance: Each tablet contains 400mg of amoxicillin (equivalent to 459.1mg of amoxicillin trihydrate) and 100mg of clavulanic acid (equivalent to 119.14mg of potassium clavulanate).

Dosage and method of administration:

Oral administration. Dosage: 10 mg of amoxicillin and 2.5 mg of clavulanic acid/kg of body weight, every 12 hours. In refractory respiratory infections, the dose may be doubled to 20 mg of amoxicillin and 5 mg of clavulanic acid/kg of body weight, every 12 hours, and treatment may be prolonged up to 10 days. Duration of treatment: In most cases, a treatment duration of 5 to 7 days is sufficient. In chronic cases, a longer treatment period may be necessary. Based on clinical trials, the following treatment durations are recommended: Chronic skin infections, 10–20 days. Chronic cystitis, 10–28 days. Instructions for administration: To ensure correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. The tablets can be administered directly into the animal's mouth or crushed and mixed with a small amount of food, and should be given immediately.

Contraindications:

Do not administer to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, or other small herbivores. Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances, to other substances in the beta-lactam group, or to any of the excipients. Do not administer to horses or ruminants. Do not administer to animals with severe renal insufficiency with anuria or oliguria.
