Inflacam 1.5 mg/ml 15ml

Inflacam 1.5mg/ml is indicated for the relief of inflammation and pain in acute and chronic musculoskeletal diseases in dogs.

Active substance: Meloxicam.

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam group, which acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thus exerting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-exudative and antipyretic effects. It reduces leukocyte infiltration into inflamed tissue. To a lesser extent, it also inhibits collagen-induced thrombocyte aggregation.

Target species: Dogs

Dosage and route of administration:

Initial treatment is a single dose of 0.2 mg meloxicam/kg body weight on the first day. Treatment should be continued with oral administration once daily (at 24-hour intervals) of a maintenance dose of 0.1 mg meloxicam/kg body weight.

For prolonged treatment, once a clinical response has been observed (after ≥ 4 days), the dose of the veterinary medicinal product may be adjusted to the lowest effective individual dose, taking into account that the degree of pain and inflammation associated with chronic musculoskeletal disorders may vary over time.

Particular attention should be paid to the accuracy of the dose.

Shake well before administering. To be administered orally, either mixed with food or directly into the mouth.

The suspension can be administered using the dosing syringe included in the box. The syringe fits into the bottle and has a scale in kg of body weight that corresponds to the maintenance dose (i.e. 0.1 mg meloxicam/kg of body weight).

Clinical response is usually seen within 3 - 4 days. Treatment should be discontinued after a maximum of 10 days if no clinical improvement is apparent.
