Maxilase 200 U.CEIP/ml Syrup 200ml

Maxilase 200 U.CEIP/ml Syrup is indicated as an adjunct treatment for inflammatory conditions of the oropharynx (odynophagia, pharyngitis).

Active substances: Each milliliter of syrup contains 200 U.CEIP of alpha-amylase.

Dosage and method of administration:

The enzymatic power of alpha-amylase is expressed in U. CEIP (weight of enzyme that hydrolyzes 1 mg of soluble starch in 10 seconds at a temperature of 37ºC). Infants over 6 months (7 kg) and children up to 3 years of age (15 kg): 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3 times a day (5 ml of syrup contains 1000 U. CEIP). Children over 3 years of age (> 15 kg): 1 dessert spoon (10 ml) 3 times a day (10 ml of syrup contains 2000 U. CEIP). Adults: 1 tablespoon (15 ml) 3 times a day (15 ml of syrup contains 3000 U. CEIP). If there is no improvement after 5 days of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

According to current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
