Voltamig 20 coated tablets

Voltamig is a non-prescription medication indicated for the acute treatment of headaches and migraine attacks with or without aura.

Active substance: Each coated tablet contains 250mg of acetylsalicylic acid, 250mg of paracetamol and 65mg of caffeine.

Dosage and method of administration:

Adults (18 years and over) Headache: The usual recommended dose is 1 tablet. An additional tablet may be taken 4 to 6 hours apart. In the case of more severe pain, 2 tablets may be taken. If necessary, 2 additional tablets may be taken 4 to 6 hours apart. It is intended for short-term use, up to 4 days in the case of headaches. Migraines: Take 2 tablets when symptoms appear. If necessary, 2 additional tablets may be taken 4 to 6 hours apart. It is intended for short-term use, up to 3 days in the case of migraines. In both cases, headaches and migraines, the dose should be limited to 6 tablets in 24 hours. The medicine should not be used for a longer period or in a higher dose than recommended without medical advice. Take each dose with a full glass of water.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol, caffeine or any of the excipients. Patients in whom acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as diclofenac or ibuprofen, precipitate attacks of asthma, bronchospasm, angioedema, urticaria or acute rhinitis. Active gastric or intestinal ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation and in patients with a history of peptic ulcer. Haemophilia or other bleeding disorders. Severe hepatic impairment or severe renal impairment (GFR <30mL/min/1.73m2). Severe heart failure. Administration of more than 15mg of methotrexate per week. Last trimester of pregnancy.

According to current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to deliveries to other Member States of the European Union.
