Duodix is a non-prescription medicine indicated for the temporary treatment of moderate pain associated with headache (non-migraine), low back pain, menstrual pain, toothache, rheumatic and muscular pain, cold and flu-like symptoms, sore throat and fever . This product is especially suitable for pain that requires stronger analgesia than with ibuprofen or paracetamol alone.
Active substance: Each tablet contains 200mg of ibuprofen and 500 mg of paracetamol.
Dosage and method of administration:
For oral administration. For short term use only. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest period of time necessary to relieve symptoms. The patient should consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, or if it is necessary to use this medicine for more than 3 days. Adults should take one tablet up to three times a day. The interval between doses must be at least six hours. If a dose of one tablet does not control your symptoms, you can take a maximum of two tablets up to three times a day. The interval between doses must be at least six hours. No more than six tablets (3000 mg paracetamol, 1200 mg ibuprofen) can be taken in a 24-hour period. Adverse reactions can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to alleviate symptoms (see section 4.4). Elderly No special dosage modifications are necessary (see section 4.4). Elderly people are at higher risk of serious consequences from adverse reactions. If an NSAID is considered necessary, the lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest period of time possible. The patient should be monitored regularly for gastrointestinal bleeding during NSAID therapy.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any of the excipients. In patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions associated with acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy. Active existence or history of peptic ulcer/recurrent bleeding. In patients with coagulation disorders. In patients with severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment or severe heart failure. In concomitant use with other medications that contain NSAIDs, including selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors and daily doses of acetylsalicylic acid greater than 75 mg. In concomitant use with other medicines containing paracetamol. During the last trimester of pregnancy.
