Actronadol 200mg is a medication indicated for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache and pain associated with tooth extraction, menstrual pain, muscle pain, joint pain and fever reduction, in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age.
Active substance: Each film-coated tablet contains 200 mg of naproxen, equivalent to 220 mg of naproxen sodium.
Dosage and method of administration:
Undesirable effects can be minimized by using the minimum effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms. Adults and adolescents over 16 years of age and weighing more than 50 kg: 1 film-coated tablet (200 mg naproxen) every 8–12 hours while symptoms persist. An initial dose of 2 film-coated tablets (400 mg naproxen), followed by 1 tablet (200 mg naproxen) every 12 hours, may provide greater relief. The maximum daily dose of naproxen should not exceed 3 film-coated tablets (3 x 200 mg = 600 mg naproxen). Do not use for more than 7 days for the symptomatic treatment of pain. Patients should be advised to consult their doctor if pain persists or worsens. Actronadol should not be used in children under 16 years of age as dose adjustment based on body weight is not possible. The maximum dose for elderly patients, patients with renal impairment, and patients with hepatic impairment is 2 film-coated tablets per day, divided into two doses.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. History of bronchospasm, asthma, rhinitis, urticaria, or anaphylactic or anaphylactoid-type reactions associated with the administration of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Active bleeding or risk of bleeding. History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID treatment. Active or past peptic, gastric, or duodenal ulcer or recurrent bleeding (2 or more distinct episodes of ulceration or bleeding). Severe heart failure. Severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min). Hepatic cirrhosis and severe hepatic failure. Ongoing intensive diuretic treatment. Ongoing anticoagulant treatment. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
