Canesten Powder is indicated for fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes, namely interdigital mycoses, on the hands and feet (eg: tinea manuum, tinea pedis known as "athlete's foot"), pityriasis versicolor (more or less round spots, with hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation, most often on the chest or back, and may scaly slightly). Canesten cutaneous powder is also indicated for the prophylaxis of recurrence of fungal infections of the intertriginous areas of the skin, in particular athlete's foot.

Active substance: Each gram of skin powder contains 10mg of clotrimazole.

Dosage and method of administration:

Adults and children: Canesten skin powder should be applied to the area to be treated, sprinkling it, two to three times a day. In the case of athlete's foot, it should also be sprinkled on socks and shoes, in order to absorb moisture and prevent reinfection. Can be used after application of Canesten Cream or Canesten Solution for skin spray. Duration of treatment: intertriginous mycoses 3-4 weeks and pityriasis versicolor 1-3 weeks.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. When applied to intertriginous areas, close to the genital area, it can reduce the effectiveness and safety of latex-based products, such as condoms and diaphragm. The contraceptive efficacy of vaginal spermicides may also be reduced. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
