Cleenema Rectal Solution 133ml

Cleenema Rectal Solution is indicated for use in relieving eventual constipation, pre-bowel cleansing and preparation for colonoscopy or x-ray examinations.

Active substance: 21.4 g (18.1% w/v) of sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate and 9.4 g (8.0% w/v) of disodium phosphate dodecahydrate.

Cleenema will act as a saline laxative when given rectally. The accumulation of fluid in the lower part of the intestines causes distension and favors peristalsis and bowel movement with evacuation only of the rectum, sigmoid and part or all of the descending colon.

Posology and method of administration:

Adults, elderly and children from 12 years of age: 1 bottle (administered dose of 118 ml) once a day, at the most, or as medically indicated. Children between 3 and under 12 years of age: as per medical advice. Cleenema must not be used in children under the age of 3 years. To be used in the rectum only. Lie on your left side with both knees bent and arms at rest. Remove the orange protective cap. With firm pressure, gently insert the Comfortip nozzle of the enema into the anus with the cannula facing the navel. Squeeze the vial until almost all of the liquid is injected. Discontinue use if resistance is encountered. Forcing the enema can lead to injuries. Put the enema back in the package and make it useless. The desired effect is usually achieved within 2 to 5 minutes. In case of delay, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Rectal enemas should only be used for short-term relief from occasional constipation.

According to current legislation, medicines not subject to a prescription in Portugal can only be delivered in the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
