Ambroxol Farmoz 30mg/5ml Syrup 200ml

Ambroxol Farmoz 30mg/5ml syrup is a mucolytic adjuvant in the antibacterial treatment of respiratory infections in the presence of bronchial hypersecretion.

Active substance: 6 mg ambroxol/ml syrup.

Ambroxol is a specific fluidifier that acts on the viscosity and structure of mucus. It increases the production of pulmonary surfactant and stimulates ciliary activity. These actions result in improved mucus flow and transport (mucociliary clearance). Improved mucociliary clearance, which has been demonstrated in clinical pharmacological studies, facilitates expectoration and coughing.

Dosage and method of administration:

Treatment should not be exceeded for more than 5-7 days without consulting your doctor. Each 5 ml of syrup is equivalent to one full teaspoon. Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml (2 teaspoons), 2 times a day. This regimen is suitable for the treatment of acute respiratory tract disorders and for the initial treatment of chronic conditions for up to 14 days. For the treatment of children under 12 years, depending on the severity of the disease, the following dosage regimen is recommended: Children from 6 to 12 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoon), 2 to 3 times a day (corresponding to 1.2 mg/kg of body weight). Children from 2 to 5 years: 2.5 ml (half a teaspoon), 3 times a day (corresponding to 1.25 mg/kg of body weight). Children aged 1 to 2 years: 2.5 ml (half a teaspoon), twice a day (corresponding to 1.6 mg/kg of body weight). These doses are intended for initial treatment. Doses may be reduced by half after 14 days. Ambroxol Farmoz 30mg/5ml Syrup should be taken at mealtimes. The syrup can be administered using a spoon (depending on the dosage) or the measuring cup provided inside the packaging.

According to current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to deliveries to other Member States of the European Union.
