Drenoxol 3mg/ml Syrup 200ml

Drenoxol 3mg/ml syrup is a mucolytic adjunct to the antibacterial treatment of respiratory infections in the presence of bronchial hypersecretion.

Active substance: 3 mg ambroxol/ml of syrup.

Ambroxol is a specific fluidifier that acts on the viscosity and structure of mucus. It increases the production of pulmonary surfactant and stimulates ciliary activity. These actions result in improved mucus flow and transport (mucociliary clearance). The improvement in mucociliary clearance, which has been demonstrated in clinical pharmacological studies, facilitates sputum and coughing.

Dosage and method of administration:

Pediatric population: Up to 2 years: 2.5 ml (measured cup) 2 times a day. From 2 to 6 years: 2.5 ml (measured cup) 2 to 3 times a day. Over 6 years: 5.0 ml (measured cup) 3 times a day. Adults: On average 90 mg/day, divided into three doses of 5 ml (measured cup) 3 times a day. Elderly: Drenoxol (ambroxol) is suitable for use in the elderly.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Patients with gastroduodenal ulcer.
