Dextromethorphan Azevedos 2mg/ml Oral Solution 200ml

Dextromethorphan Azevedos 2mg/ml Oral Solution is a non-prescription drug indicated for the symptomatic treatment of cough of irritative, non-productive origin.

Active substance: 2 mg/ml dextromethorphan.

Dextromethorphan is a synthetic morphine derivative with central antitussive action. Increases the cough center stimulation threshold by inhibiting afferent stimuli. Dextromethorphan does not cause habituation or dependence.

Dosage and method of administration:

Adults and children from 12 years: The usual dosage is 5-10 ml () of Dextromethorphan Azevedos per dose, with intervals of 4 to 6 hours. The maximum daily dose of dextromethorphan hydrobromide is 120 mg (equivalent to 60 ml of Dextromethorphan Azevedos ). Children from 6 to 12 years: The usual dosage is 30 to 60 mg/20 to 35 kg body weight/day. The usual dose of 2.5-5 ml of Dextromethorphan Azevedos with intervals of 4 to 6 hours. The maximum daily dose of dextromethorphan hydrobromide is 60 mg (equivalent to 30 mg of Dextromethorphan Azevedos ). Dextromethorphan Azevedos is not recommended for children 6 years of age or younger.

In accordance with current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
