Ambroxol Generis 3mg/ml syrup 200ml

Ambroxol Generis 3mg/ml syrup it is a mucolytic adjuvant in the antibacterial treatment of respiratory infections in the presence of bronchial hypersecretion.

Active substance: 3 mg ambroxol/ml syrup.

Ambroxol is a specific thinner that acts on the viscosity and structure of mucus. It increases the production of pulmonary surfactant and stimulates ciliary activity. These actions result in improved flow and transport of mucus (mucociliary clearance). The improvement in mucociliary clearance, which has been demonstrated in clinical pharmacological studies, facilitates sputum and coughing.

Posology and method of administration:

Dosage for adults and children over 12 years: Generally speaking, two teaspoons with 10 ml of solution three times a day for the first 2 or 3 days (corresponding to 90 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride/day), and in followed by two teaspoons with 10 ml of solution twice a day (corresponding to 60 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride/day). Dosage in child: Children under 2 years of age: Take half a teaspoon with 2.5 ml of solution twice a day (corresponding to 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride/day). Children from 2 to 5 years: Take half a teaspoon (2.5 ml of solution) three times a day, corresponding to 22.5 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride/day. Children from 6 to 12 years: Take one teaspoon with 5 ml of solution two to three times a day (corresponding to 30 or 45 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride/day).

According to current legislation, medicines not subject to a prescription in Portugal can only be delivered in the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
