Lactulose Generis 10g/15ml is indicated for people with difficulties in defecation or other anal difficulties.
Active substances: 666.7mg of lactulose per ml.
It does not contain any excipients. However, it may contain small amounts of other sugars, such as lactose, galactose, epilactose and fructose.
Dosage and method of administration:
It can be administered diluted or undiluted. The dose should be swallowed all at once and should not be kept in the mouth for a long period of time. The dose should be adjusted according to the individual needs of the patient. In the case of a single daily dose, it should always be taken at the same time. During treatment with laxatives, it is recommended to drink enough liquids (1.5 – 2 litres, equivalent to 6 – 8 glasses) during the day. The sachet should be torn open and its contents should be swallowed immediately. Constipation or clinical situations in which soft stools are necessary: Adults and adolescents: Initial daily dose: 15 - 45 ml, corresponding to 1 to 3 sachets. Daily maintenance dose: 15 - 30 ml, corresponding to 1 to 2 sachets. Children (7 to 14 years): Initial daily dose: 15 ml, corresponding to 1 sachet. Daily maintenance dose: 10 - 15 ml, corresponding to 1 sachet. Children (1 to 6 years): Initial daily dose: 5 - 10 ml. Daily maintenance dose: 5 - 10 ml. Infants (under 1 year): Initial daily dose: up to 5 ml. Daily maintenance dose: up to 5 ml. After a few days, the initial dose can be adjusted to the maintenance dose, depending on the response to treatment. Several days (2-3 days) of treatment may be necessary until regular defecation is observed.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the components. Galactosemia. Gastrointestinal obstruction. If the therapeutic effect is insufficient after several days of treatment, it is advisable to consult a doctor. Long-term use of this medicine is not recommended, except under medical supervision.
