Zaflex 25mg 20 soft capsules

Zaflex 25mg is a non-prescription medication indicated for the relief of acute pain episodes, such as rheumatic and muscular pain, lower back pain, headaches, toothaches, and primary dysmenorrhea, as well as for the symptomatic relief of colds and flu, including headaches, body aches, and sore throats, also having an antipyretic action to reduce fever.

Active substances: Each Zaflex soft capsule contains 25 mg of diclofenac potassium.

Dosage and method of administration:

Undesirable effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose necessary for the shortest period of time needed to control symptoms. Adults and children over 14 years of age: Initially one soft capsule, followed by one soft capsule every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 3 capsules (75 mg) per day. Zaflex should be used for short periods of time, up to 5 days for pain relief and up to 3 days as an antipyretic. Use for longer periods should be recommended by a doctor. The risk-benefit ratio should be considered when symptoms do not improve or worsen. The soft capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. As with other NSAIDs, Zaflex should be taken with or after meals. Zaflex is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.

Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Active intestinal or gastric ulcer, hemorrhage or perforation. History of gastrointestinal hemorrhage or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy. Active peptic ulcer/bleeding or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/bleeding (two or more distinct episodes of proven ulceration or hemorrhage). Last trimester of pregnancy. Severe hepatic impairment. Renal impairment (GFR<15 mL/min/1.73 m²). Established congestive heart failure (NYHA II-IV), ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease and/or cerebrovascular disease. Like other NSAIDs, diclofenac is also contraindicated in patients in whom asthma attacks, urticaria, angioedema or acute rhinitis are precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
