Baycox Multi is indicated for the treatment of:
Cattle: Prevention of clinical signs of coccidiosis and reduction of the spread of coccidia in calves, on farms with a confirmed clinical history of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis or Eimeria zuernii.
Pigs: Prevention of clinical signs of coccidiosis in newborn piglets (3-5 days old), on farms with a confirmed clinical history of coccidiosis caused by Cystoisospora suis.
Sheep: Prevention of clinical signs of coccidiosis and reduction of the spread of coccidia in lambs, on farms with a confirmed clinical history of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria crandallis and Eimeria ovinoidalis.
Active substances: Toltrazuril 50 mg.
Toltrazuril is a coccidicide from the group of triazinetriones, active against Eimeria spp. Toltrazuril induces changes in the ultrastructure of the developmental stages of coccidia. These are mainly caused by swelling of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi complex, abnormal changes in the perinuclear space and changes in cell division. Toltrazuril causes a decrease in the activity of respiratory chain enzymes in parasites.
Posology and route of administration:
For oral administration.
All Species: The ready-to-use oral suspension should be shaken for 20 seconds before administration. In order to obtain the maximum benefit, animals must be treated before the expected appearance of clinical signs, that is, in the pre-patent period. To ensure the correct dose is administered, the animal's weight must be determined as accurately as possible.
Cattle: Each animal should be treated with a single oral dose of 15 mg toltrazuril / kg body weight, equivalent to 3.0 ml oral suspension per 10 kg body weight. For the treatment of a group of animals of the same breed and the same or similar ages, the dose should be determined according to the animal with the highest weight in that group.
Pigs: Each piglet should be treated at 3-5 days of age with a single oral dose of 20 mg toltrazuril / kg body weight, equivalent to 0.4 ml oral suspension per kg body weight. Due to the small volumes required for the individual treatment of piglets, it is recommended to use a dosing equipment with a dosing accuracy of 0.1 ml.
Sheep: Each animal should be treated with a single oral dose of 20 mg toltrazuril / kg body weight, equivalent to 0.4 ml oral suspension per kg body weight. If the treatment is collective rather than individual, animals should be grouped according to their live weight and the dose determined accordingly, in order to avoid under- or overdose.
