Apoquel 5.4mg 20 chewable tablets
Treatment of itching associated with dermatitis in dogs.
Apoquel is a medicine used to treat itching associated with allergic dermatitis in dogs and the clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs.
Active substance: Oclacitinib.
Dosage and route of administration:
The recommended initial dose is 0.4 to 0.6 mg/kg of oclacitinib, administered orally, twice a day, for 14 days.
For maintenance therapy (after the initial 14 days), the same dose should be administered (0.4 to 0.6 mg/kg) once a day.
Apoquel tablets are chewable, palatable and quickly consumed by most dogs. These tablets can be administered with or without food. The dosage table in the package leaflet indicates the number of tablets required. The tablets can be divided by the groove in the middle.
The need for long-term maintenance therapy should be based on an individual risk-benefit assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Do not administer to dogs less than 12 months of age or less than 3 kg of body weight. Do not administer to dogs with evidence of immunosuppression, such as hyperadrenocorticism, or with evidence of progressive malignancy, as the active substance has not been evaluated in these cases.
