Bacitracina Zimaia 500/2000 IU/g Ointment 10g

Bacitracin Zimaia is indicated for the treatment and prevention of superficial skin infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Active substances: 500 IU of bacitracin and 2000 IU of retinol per gram of ointment.

Bacitracin is a polypeptide antibiotic produced by Bacillus subtilis. Its action can be bactericidal or bacteriostatic, depending on the concentration reached at the site of infection and the susceptibility of the organism. Bacitracin is active against many gram-positive organisms, such as staphylococci (including some resistant to penicillins), streptococci, anaerobic cocci, corynebacterium and clostridium.

Dosage and method of administration:

Apply 1-3 times a day. Do not use on large skin wounds and limit the treatment time. If after a week of appropriate application there is no evident improvement, the patient should consult their doctor.

According to current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to deliveries to other Member States of the European Union.
