Bekunis Laxative Bisacodyl 5mg 40 coated tablets

Bekunis Laxative Bisacodyl is indicated for the short-term relief of constipation.

Active substances: Each coated tablet contains 5mg of Bisacodyl. Each coated tablet contains 226mg of Lactose, 88.34mg of Sucrose and 5.49mg of Glucose.

Dosage and method of administration:

Adults and children over 12 years of age should take 1-2 coated tablets of Bekunis Laxative Bisacodyl (corresponding to 5–10 mg bisacodyl). The tablets are best swallowed whole in the afternoon or morning on an empty stomach with plenty of liquid. If taken in the afternoon, bowel movement occurs approximately 10 hours later. If taken in the morning on an empty stomach, bowel movement occurs approximately 6 hours later. If there is no clear diagnosis of the cause of constipation, laxatives should only be used for a short period of time. Use of Bekunis Laxative Bisacodyl over a long period of time very often leads to impaired bowel function. In case of chronic constipation, the cause should be clarified by means of a differential diagnosis.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Bekunis Laxative Bisacodyl is contraindicated in patients with intestinal obstruction (ileus) and in children under 12 years of age. Bekunis Laxative Bisacodyl should not be used in cases of acute inflammatory bowel disease or in cases of imbalance in water-electrolyte metabolism.
