Moderlax 5mg 20 tablets
Medicine not subject to medical prescription indicated in cases of constipation.
Moderlax 5mg is indicated for use in cases of constipation and for the preparation of diagnostic aids, in pre- and post-operative treatment and whenever easier evacuation is required.
Active substance: 5.0mg of Bisacodyl.
Bisacodyl is a laxative of local action that acts by contact, for which an anti-absorption hydrophagic effect is also described, bisacodyl stimulates, after hydrolysis in the large intestine, peristaltic movements in the colon and promotes the accumulation of water and electrolytes in the lumen colic. This results in stimulation of defecation, reduced transit time, and stool softening.
Dosage and method of administration:
Moderlax should not be used in children under 6 years of age. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the following dosages are recommended:
1. In case of constipation: Adults and children over 10 years: 1 - 2 film-coated tablets (5 - 10 mg) before bedtime. Children from 6 to 10 years: 1 coated tablet (5 mg), before bedtime.
