Acyclovir Bluepharma 50mg/g Cream 10g

Acyclovir Bluepharma 50mg/g Cream is indicated for the treatment of recurrent cold sores as a skin lesion resulting from Herpes simplex virus infection.

Active substance: 50mg acyclovir per g of cream.

Acyclovir is a highly active in vitro antiviral against herpes simplex viruses (HSV) types I and II and Varicella zoster.

Posology and method of administration:

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Acyclovir should be applied five times a day at approximately 4 hour intervals, omitting night application. It should be applied to injuries or imminent injuries as soon as possible after the onset of an infection. In recurrent episodes, it is particularly important to start treatment early (prodroma or erythema) or when lesions appear. Studies in patients with cold sores have shown that treatment is still effective if started after the appearance of the lesions (wheal or vesicle stage). The treatment must be carried out for four days. Children aged between 2 and 12 years: It is recommended to use, under medical advice, Acyclovir in the same dosage as adults.

According to current legislation, medicines not subject to a prescription in Portugal can only be delivered in the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
