Albendavet 19mg/ml is an oral suspension for sheep, indicated for:

- Treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes produced by adult forms, larvae and eggs of the following nematodes: Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcinta, O. trifurcata, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, T. vitrinus, Cooperia curticei, Nematodirus filicollis, Chabertia ovina, Oesphagotomum venulosum and Dictyocaulus filaria.

- Treatment of tenioses produced by: Moniezia spp.

- Treatment of dystomatosis, produced by adult forms of Hepatic fluke.

Active substances: Albendazol 19 mg, Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (sodium) 1.5 mg, Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (sodium) 0.3 mg.

Internal antiparasitic of the benzimidazole family. It produces its effect against helminths, altering its ability to obtain nutrients. It acts on energy metabolism, inhibiting the enzyme fumarate-reductase, which leads to a reduction in glycogen, causing the parasite to die by starvation. It has been found that, in some parasites, the product also inhibits tubular protein synthesis. Its activity appears to be related to its sulfoxide metabolite.

Dosage and administration route:

Route of administration: Orally. Shake before use.

Nematodes and tapeworms (adult and larval forms): 5 mg Albendazol/kg bw (equivalent to 2.5 ml of the product / 10 kg bw), in a single dose. Fasciola hepatica (adult forms): 7.5 mg of Albendazol/kg bw (equivalent to 4 ml of the product / 10 kg bw) in a single dose.

Newly introduced animals: Treatment upon arrival and keep animals away from pasture for at least 8 hours.

Lambs: It is recommended to treat lambs and goats once a month. In case of infestation by Nematodirus spp, administer one dose weekly, for three weeks, at the beginning of May

Adult sheep: If the pastures are heavily infested, it is recommended to treat the animals once a month, until autumn, and before laying.
