Albendavet 100mg / ml is an oral suspension for cattle, indicated for:

- Treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodoses produced by adult forms, larvae and eggs of the following nematodes: Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia ostertagi, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, T. colubriformis, Cooperia ancophora, Nematodirus helvetianus and radiatakumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumum.

- Treatment of teniosis produced by: Moniezia spp.

- Treatment of istomatoses, produced by adult forms of hepatic fasciola.

Active substances: Albendazole 100 mg, Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (sodium) 1.5 mg, Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (sodium) 0.3 mg.

Internal antiparasitic of the benzimidazole family. It produces its effect against helminths, changing its ability to obtain nutrients. It acts on energy metabolism, inhibiting the enzyme fumarate-reductase, which leads to a reduction in glycogen, causing the death of the parasite by starvation. It has been found that, in some parasites, the veterinary medicine also inhibits tubular protein synthesis. Its activity appears to be related to its sulfoxide metabolite.

Posology and route of administration:

Route of administration: Orally. Shake before use.

Nematodes and tapeworms (adult and larval forms): 7.5 mg albendazole / kg bw (equivalent to 0.75 ml of veterinary medicine / 10 kg bw), in a single dose. Hepatic fasciole (adult forms): 10 mg albendazole / kg bw (equivalent to 1 ml of the veterinary medicinal product / 10 kg bw) in a single dose.

Recently introduced animals: Treatment on arrival and keep animals away from pastures, at least 8 hours.

Calves: treat after a month and a half of going out to the pastures, repeating every month and a half.

Adult cattle: Treat in the autumn, before the stables. Diarrhea associated with Ostertagia spp can appear during the winter period.

In these cases, treat twice with a 4-night interval between both treatments. Repeat in spring and late summer.
