Dulcolax Suppositories is a non-prescription medicine ideal for people looking for immediate relief from constipation. They are reliable and effective in 10 to 30 minutes.

Active substance: Each suppository contains 0.010 g of 4,4-diacetoxy-diphenyl-(pyridyl-2) methane (Bisacodyl).

Dosage and method of administration:

It should not be used in children under 6 years of age. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, they are recommended in case of constipation. Adults and children over 10 years of age: 1 suppository (10 mg) for immediate effect. The effect of suppositories becomes effective 20 minutes (within an interval of 10 to 30 minutes) after their administration (application). Suppositories must be removed from the wrapper and inserted into the rectum. In the preparation of diagnostic procedures, in pre- and post-operative treatment and in pathologies that require defecation to be facilitated, it should only be used under medical supervision. Adults and children over 10 years of age: 2 coated tablets (10 mg) in the morning and 2 coated tablets (10 mg) in the evening, the day before the exam, followed by a suppository on the morning of the exam. Children aged 6 to 10 years: 1 coated tablet (5 mg) at night and half a suppository (5 mg) the next morning.

Contraindications:

It is contraindicated in patients with ileus, intestinal occlusion, serious situations of abdominal surgery, such as acute appendicitis, serious inflammatory diseases in the intestines and severe abdominal pain associated with nausea and vomiting that may be indicative of more serious pathologies. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe dehydration and in patients with known hypersensitivity to bisacodyl or any of the excipients of the formulation.
