Cimalgex 30mg 144 tablets

Cimalgex is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, and management of perioperative pain due to orthopedic or soft tissue surgery in dogs.

Active substance: Cimicoxib.

Cimicoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, belonging to the coxib group and acts by the selective inhibition of the enzyme cyclooxygenase 2.

Do not use in dogs less than 10 weeks of age.

Posology and route of administration:

Oral use.

The tablets can be administered with or without food. The pills are flavored and studies (in healthy Beagle dogs) show that they are likely to be taken voluntarily by most dogs.

The recommended dose of Cimicoxib is 2 mg per kg body weight, once a day.

Duration of treatment:

Perioperative pain management due to orthopedic or soft tissue surgery: a dose 2 hours before surgery, followed by 3 to 7 days of treatment, based on the veterinarian's decision.

Relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis: 6 months. For long-term treatment, the veterinarian must carry out regular monitoring.
