Broncolis is indicated for the treatment of respiratory diseases of the following species:

  • Songbirds (canaries, goldfinches, mandarins, rosettes, venezuela cardialites, chickadees, pintarocho, glosters, greenfinches, pisco, wax-beaks, gold diamond, gray cardinal, lugues, dominoes, weaver, Java sparrow, bengalis of india , nightingale from japan, kackarikis, lovebirds, spider mitrata, parakeets, cockatiels, parrots, macaws, etc.).
  • Racing pigeons.

This medicine has an antiseptic action on the respiratory tract, a bronchodilator effect and is a fluidizer of mucus. It can be used in conjunction with antimicrobials for the treatment of respiratory diseases where there is a change in the function of mucociliary transport and production of viscous mucus. Stimulant expectorants are often used to treat cough associated with chronic bronchial pathologies.

Active substances: Bromhexine hydrochloride, Eucalyptol.

Bromhexine is a synthetic derivative of the herb vascina. Bromhexine has a mucolytic action and is used to treat respiratory diseases associated with viscous or excessive mucus. It changes the pattern of mucous substances produced by excretory cells, reduces the viscosity of mucus. It also has a secretolytic and secretory action in the bronchial area, with an increase in bronchial ciliary activity, which facilitates expectoration and relieves cough. Increases the effectiveness of antibiotics.

Eucalyptol has been used as a decongestant, often in combination with other substances. Controls mucus hypersecretion in the airways through an anti-inflammatory action by inhibiting cytokines. Studies carried out with extracts of medicinal plants have demonstrated broad antimicrobial activity of eucalyptus oil against Bacillus cereus, E. coli, Enterococcus faecalis, S. Aureus, MRSA, and other Gram-positive. Action against fungi, such as C. Albicans and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, has also been described.

Posology and route of administration:

Song birds and homing pigeons: 1 to 2 ml per liter of drinking water.

Treatment lasts 3 to 5 days, as an adjunct to antibiotic treatment for respiratory infections.
